What is the difference between a stepper motor driver and a controller?

The function of the driver is to convert the pulse signal sent by the controller into an angular displacement and then send it to the stepper motor.
The controller is dedicated to sending pulse signals to the driver. PLC, microcontroller, control card, etc. belong to the controller.
The motor is attached to the drive, and the drive is connected to the controller. Only when, the motor, driver, and controller is complete can the system be constructed.

Of course, some drivers do not prescribe the controller to simulate the pulse itself, but the cost is higher and the applicable industry is less.
Simply put, one is controlled and the other is execution.
The controller is utilized to control control when the stepper motor turns and how many pulses are turned. The driver is utilized to drive the motor. The driver can subdivide the pulse of the motor, increase the output current, and distribute the pulse.
The principle is as follows:
The control section transmits the pulse amount to be rotated and the pulse speed (i.e., the speed at which the motor rotates) and the direction to the driver, and the driver is arranged to sequentially allocate the pulses on each of the motors.
The CNC Breakout Board is used to run the signal processing of the host computer ( LPT port ), with MACH3 CNC system software, and the peripheral machine dynamic electrical.
It is suitable for CNC engraving machine, CNC lathe, CNC plasmacutting machine, laser engraving machine, CNC milling machines, machining centers and other machine tools.
With the host computer and the MACH3 series software, it can be the most cost-effective CNC system.
